During the 2011 Georgia Ag Forecast, hosted by the UGA College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, industry leaders stated that Georgia’s agriculture industry should remain stable this year, especially as the “buying local” trend continues. One expert commented that local foods may be the best path toward economic recovery and presented some innovative ideas for growing and selling food locally, while another discussed how new legislative policies could affect the industry as a whole.
